Alex, a trained draftsman, and Caroline, a practicing industrial designer, both turned interior designers. Our combined skillset enables us to craft cohesive projects that are tailored from concept to completion. For us By Comma is not just a design firm; it's a philosophy that rejects the imposition of a singular aesthetic in favor of tailored, soulful experiences. We are skilled enough to know how but small enough to care why.
Our journey began four years ago at Yabu Pushelberg where our skills found definition. Here, designing bespoke furniture and monumental hotel transformations became our shared language. We became united by our common belief that every project, regardless of scale, deserves a distinct identity.
Our partnership thrives on our intertwined personalities and combined design philosophies. We believe that what is best for each project doesn't exist yet and lives where quiet meets quirky.
